KAS decision sets maximum height for buildings in the Athens Acropolis area

The members of the Central Archaeological Council (KAS) have unanimously approved the “Special Presidential Decree for determining heights within a demarcated area surrounding the Acropolis, specifically the Makrigianni/Koukaki area”, ANA reports.

According to the plan approved on Tuesday, the heights of the buildings around the Acropolis in this area are set at 21 meters and 24 meters for a section of Syggrou Avenue. Swimming pools may not be built on their roofs, but auxiliary constructions (eg stairwell ends) will be allowed, the area of which cannot exceed 35 sq.m., as well as plants adding an additional height of one meter.
