Museums across the country are reopening today, Monday, June 15, after three months closed due to the coronavirus outbreak, int.ert.gr reports.
Wonderful and unique museums, archaeological and non-archaeological, open their doors to welcome us, with the staff having adopted all the necessary security measures, in accordance with the instructions given by the Public National Health Organization and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Concerning the rules that visitors must follow for their own protection, the museums will observe the 2 meters indoors – 1.5 meters outdoors – distance as well as the mandatory use of a non-medical mask, while there exists an 8 people maximum rule for the group tours.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, paid a symbolic visit to the archeological site and the museum of the Ancient Agora of Athens this morning.
“One cannot imagine Greece with closed archeological sites and museums. We are very happy that today all our museums have opened so that they can safely welcome visitors and all our fellow citizens who want to rediscover the beauty, the magic of this special place, but also of all our archeological sites”, noted the Prime Minister.
