New Archaeological Museum in the Greek city of Chalkida opens to public

The new Archeological Museum of Chalkida “Arethoussa” will be inaugurated by Culture Minister Lina Mendoni on Sunday at 19:30. The next day, the museum will open its doors to the public with the permanent exhibition curated by the Antiquities Ephorate of Evia, ANA reports.
The museum is located in the Aghios Stefanos area, where the sources of the mythical Arethoussa from which took its name are located, and is housed in a former industrial building that has been declared a monument. The building itself is an exhibit dating from the early industrial activity in the area at the start of the 20th century.
