Greece’s Culture Ministry announced on Wednesday that restoration works will be carried out inside the Castle of Zakynthos to preserve and promote the buildings and structures of the eras of Venetian and British rule, ANA reports.
“The Castle of Zakynthos is a very significant Byzantine and Medieval monument due to its historic importance and architectural value. Our aim is, after the restoration works, to highlight its historic and archaeological value as well as the further operational development as a visitable site,” noted Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.
