Athens Acropolis site closed down from 12:00 to 17:00 due to high temperatures

The ancient site of the Acropolis has shut down from 12:00 to 17:00 due to a forecast for very high temperatures in the coming days, the Culture Ministry announced on Wednesday, ANA reports.

Greece’s Culture Ministry also informs that those who have issued tickets for the period from 12.00 to 17.00, can visit the archaeological site after it reopens at 17.00, and between 17.00 and 20.00.

The ministry had previously noted, “As already announced by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens and the Organization of Managing and Developing Cultural Funds, it is possible the ancient site of the Acropolis may have to shut down from 12:00 to 17:00 due to a forecast for high temperatures in the coming days.”
