Cultural Routes in Apokoronas, Chania | Conference
Cultural heritage is emerging as a catalyst for sustainable tourism development in Apokoronas, Chania, through the initiative to create a Cultural Route that connects 27 important monuments of all times.
Aiming to connect culture, local identity and quality tourism, the conference “Cultural Routes: Discussions and Proposals on the occasion of the Cultural Route in Apokoronas” will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at 17:00 at the Holy Monastery of Agios Georgios in Karydi, Apokoronas.
The event, which is part of the research program of the Technical University of Crete, with Professor Amalia Kotsaki as scientific director, will present good practices from Spain and Cyprus, cooperation with European programs (Veneto-Istria-Crete) as well as specific proposals for the restoration and reuse of historical sites.
Dedicated to the memory of archaeologist Michalis Andrianakis, the conference attempts to highlight culture not as a static imprint of the past, but as a living field of dialogue, inspiration, and local development.
Admission is free for the public.
