A unique cultural event that aims to connect Greek culture with modern European identity is scheduled to premiere in the fall. The event is titled “The Olive Tree of Peace: A Journey from Ancient Olympia to Brussels”, an initiative that aims to promote Ancient Olympia in Greece and abroad.
The event is under the auspices of the Municipality of Ancient Olympia and is part of a broader strategy of the Municipality to promote its cultural heritage through sports and cultural events. These events, which are carried out either by themselves or in collaboration with third parties, aim to connect local identity with European culture, reaching out to audiences at local, regional, and international levels.
The implementation of this specific action has been undertaken by the company MellonOmegaBV, based in Brussels. The company operates in the field of marketing and communication, offering comprehensive services from digital promotion to the organization of events and educational seminars. As stated in the proposal submitted to the Municipality, MellonOmegaBV intends to organize and finance the event, seeking sponsorship from private companies, without requesting any financial compensation from the Municipality.
The brand and logo of the Municipality of Ancient Olympia will accompany all relevant communication and material of the event, enhancing the extroversion and recognition of the area. The action, as noted, aims to enhance tourist promotion, promote the cultural identity of Olympia, and create new channels of dialogue with the European public.
Therefore, next autumn the olive tree, a highly recognizable symbol of peace and ancient wisdom, will travel from the soil of Olympia to the heart of Europe, carrying with it messages of cooperation, culture, and unity.
