Desyllas, Messinia is preparing to welcome, for the third consecutive year, the Cultural Festival “192.4”, an initiative that began in 2023 by the group #agapameDesylla and has now become an institution. This year’s event will take place on August 17, 2025, focusing on culture, historical memory and collective creation.
The number “192.4” is not accidental. It corresponds to the kilometer mark of the historic railway station of Desyllas on the metric line of Corinth – Tripoli – Kalamata, which functioned for decades as a vital artery connecting the region. The station was destroyed in the great fire of 2007 and the line was abolished in 2013, marking the end of an era for the village. However, the festival came to revive the collective memory and breathe new life into the local community.
This year’s event includes a rich program with cultural activities, participation of local organizations, workshops, presentations and experiential experiences for all ages. The goal is to highlight the cultural identity of Desyllas, strengthen the social fabric and connect the past with the present and the future.
The “192.4” Festival is an open invitation to residents and visitors to experience the authenticity of the Messinian countryside, to discover local history and to participate in a celebration that combines memory with creativity.
