EUTOPIA Program at Philoxenia | Legal transfers of workers from India

The Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Economy is highlighting at this year’s Philoxenia – Hotelia 2025 one of the most substantial interventions for the labor market in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors. The EUTOPIA Program, as emphasized, is recommended as an institutional corridor that creates a legal, safe and organized framework for the transfer of workers from India to Greece, responding to a market that has remained pressured for years by the constant shortage of human resources.

At this point, it should be emphasized that the official presentation entitled The Institutional Pathway for Legal Transfers of Workers from India – EUTOPIA Program will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 17:00, at the Open Stage of Pavilion 13 of Philoxenia – Hotelia. The event is expected to be open, interactive and practically useful, as it will give market professionals the opportunity to discuss specific needs, procedures and options for filling job positions.

At the same time, the Chamber is raising the bar of synergies by hosting seven leading Indian tour operators at this year’s event. This is a targeted step towards strengthening trade and tourism relations between the two countries, at a time when the Indian market shows a firm willingness to discover Greece beyond the classic patterns.

At the same time, the initiative gains additional weight thanks to the new aviation data that is taking shape. From January 2026, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, will launch direct flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Athens. This is a development that, as noted, is expected to strengthen the high-profile inbound travel flow and broaden the scope of collaborations between Greek destinations and the rapidly growing Indian travel market.

Moreover, this year’s Philoxenia – Hotelia is shaping a scenario where the discussion on human resources is no longer a theoretical chapter. The EUTOPIA Program enters the discussion not as a wish, but as a tool, offering hospitality entrepreneurs an organized, legalized and institutionally guaranteed solution that meets the real needs of the sector.

At this moment, Greece and India seem to be opening a new chapter of cooperation, based on both tourist flows and human resource management. This year’s presence of the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce at the 40th Philoxenia-Hotelia acts as a multiplier of this perspective, strengthening a dialogue that is just beginning.
