Next year, there are talks that Turkey could give Cyprus as a “present” to Greece, with the constant concessions the country is making, former MHP parliamentarian Umit Ozdag said on Tuesday.
Ozdag, a former member of the nationalist MHP, resigned from the party earlier this after her expressed support for a “NO” vote in the upcoming April 16 referendum on constitutional reform in Turkey.
He added that soon discussions will begin to change the name of the so called ‘TRNC’ to the ‘Eastern Federal Republic’.
“The Greek Cypriots will continue to make demands, asking first for the withdrawal of the Turkish army from the island,” Ozdag added.
In the next round of the process, Ozdag said: “I believe that President Erdogan will say yes to making the ‘TRNC’ a thing of the past.”
