The National Museum of Modern Art’s exhibition halls will open in almost their entirety for the first time on April 8, so as to host the greatest part of the Athens portion of Documenta 14, one of the most important art exhibitions worldwide.
In the context of Documenta 14, shared this year between two cities, Kassel
and Athens, a significant part of the National Museum of Contemporary Art’s permanent collection will be presented at the German city’s Fridericianum Museum from June 10 onwards.
Germany’s president, Frank Walter Steinmeier will attend Documenta 14’s April 8 opening in Athens, making this his first official visit abroad following his election to the presidency.
