The summer’s first heat wave in Greece appears to be subsiding, as the national meteorology service EMY has announced that temperatures are expected to drop across the country.
In many cases EMY notes that temperatures will drop by about 4-5 degree Celsius, while the maximum temperatures expected are 37 degrees in the north and 36 degrees in the south of Greece.
The weather will be milder on the Ionian islands, where temperatures will peak at 33 degrees, while in Crete and the Aegean it will be slight warmers with EMY expecting 35 and 37 degrees respectively.
In Attica the weather conditions will greatly improve from the strong northerly winds (up to 50km/h) and temperatures will peak at 35 degrees. In Thessaloniki it will be a bit warmer (37 degrees) with lots of sunshine and light winds.
