“There is absolutely no reason to have concerns over the possibility of a malaria outbreak,” the secretary general of the Health Ministry Yiannis Baskozos said in an interview with the Athens – Macedonian News Agency on Tuesday.
“Spreading unjustified concerns and defaming the country’s image abroad is an irresponsible act,” he added.
Baskozos also stressed that “there is not a proven outbreak, which has started from a refugee or a migrant,” adding that the state is taking action, monitoring the situation and based on the information available there is no reason for concern.
