Greek police ban protests for 30 hours during Obama visit to Athens

The Greek police has banned all protests and gatherings for Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16, during the visit of US President Barrack Obama in Athens.

According to the official police statement any protests, congregations or gatherings would be prohibited for reasons of “public safety and order” for the a duration of 30 hours, starting from Tuesday at 6am in the morning and lasting up to Wednesday, 4pm. The police have planned to cordon off a number of roads and streets surrounding the Athens centre during US President Obama’s visit.
