Cyprus police issue weather warning for drivers on Troodos roads

Severe weather alert has been issued to drivers as a significant snow of winter fell across Troodos, causing limited visibility in the mountainous areas.

Snowfall has made driving conditions dangerous on mountainous roads and has led the Cyprus Police to issue a press release on Thursday asking drivers to be especially careful while on the roads leading to Troodos.

Police have urged drivers to be especially careful, to drive slowly, maintain a safe distance between vehicles and switch on their lights if necessary.

According to the police press release, all roads leading to Troodos are open only for vehicles equipped with snow chains or four wheel drive due to the light snowfall.
