A 65-year-old British woman’s dead body was found inside a Larnaca apartment yesterday evening, reportedly days after she had died, according to police.
At around 7pm police received a call from residents that “intensive odours” were being smelt coming from the woman’s apartment, which is located on Constantinou Kalogera Street, Larnaca.
Upon entering the apartment, authorities found the woman’s dead body to be decomposing, suggesting that she had been dead for a while.
Coroner Sophocles Sophocleous conduced an initial autopsy on the body and found that no crime had been committed.
Another autopsy is scheduled to take place today to officially determine how the woman died.
Doctors at Larnaca General Hospital issued a death certificate.
