The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued an urgent extreme weather bulletin warning of a sudden deterioration. The bulletin forecasts snowfalls for the north and eat of Greece, with a rapid temperature fall.
Snow is expected to fall on Thursday in central Macedonia, Thessaly, Euboea and central and eastern mainland Greece, gradually covering the rest of the country on Thursday night. Topical frost will cover the north and central parts of the country on Friday. Attica is also forecast to see snowfall in regions over 400 meters altitude, while it predicted to snow in downtown Thessaloniki.
