60 Pakistani refugees who arrived in western Crete are housed in closed gym

About 60 economic migrants who were located on Friday morning in the area of Cape Tersanas, Western Crete, were transferred to the closed gym of Palia Electriki, after registering with police.

According to the latest information, the new arrivals said they were Pakistani nationals and include two women and one child, while all the rest are young men.

A team of lawyers visited in the afternoon to brief them of about their rights and a team of doctors from the hospital in Chania will examine them later in the day. The municipality will provide catering services and volunteers are helping out in the gym.
