Farmers from Crete and anti-riot police clash in Athens (videos)

A rally by farmers from Crete in Athens outside the Ministry of Agriculture turned violent when the secretary general of the Ministry refused to meet with the farmers.

The farmers attempted to brake the police blockade and the police forces used teargas to disperse them.

The farmers came to Piraeus at 7 a.m. Determined to find take clear answers from the government regarding their demand for softer insurance and taxation measures of the agricultural sector.

“We came with clear thinking and we are here to give a battle for the farmers. We are strong”, one of them stated.
