The Panhellenic Federation of Police Officers expressed on Thursday its abhorrence and sadness for Wednesday’s terrorist attack in central London, in a letter to the British Ambassador to Greece, Kate Smith.
“The Federation expresses its abhorrence and sadness of Greek policemen for yesterday’s bloody terrorist attack in the heart of the British capital, which tragically resulted in the unexpected death of innocent people, among which one British colleague,” the union said.
“Accept our sincere condolences and wishes for a speedy recovery of all those injured, with the assurance that here in Greece, Greek police are participating actively in the international fight against terrorism, wherever this comes from,” it added.
The union said yesterday’s events along with other atrocities in other European capitals “must not leave any illusions” on the huge importance of the common European policy on issues of police cooperation and mutual support where needed.
