Building of mosque in Athens approved in parliamentary committee

An article on the construction of a mosque in Athens included in a draft bill on ?Speeding up government work on education? was approved in the parliament’s educational committee on Wednesday.

SYRIZA and the Democratic Coalition voted in favour of Article 5, while New Democracy, the Communist Party, Potami and the Centrists’ Union said they are in favour but declared they will reserve their vote for the plenary, requesting further details on the composition of the Board. ANEL and Golden Dawn voted against it.

The bill will be discussed and voted on at the plenum on Thursday.
