Students from Greece and Cyprus are taking part in the Anatolia College’s Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Greece’s Summer Programs, taking place in Athens and Thessaloniki. The Center for Talented Youth was launched in 2013 with a founding donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. It operates under the auspice of Greece’s and Cyprus’s Ministries of Education and Religious Affairs. Advising CTY Greece is the internationally renowned Johns Hopkins University.
These 390 students have been selected through talent exams tests and are currently attending training programs designed specifically to speak to their particular academic abilities. Students of 3rd-6th class of primary school are attending courses in Biology, Robotics, Mathematics, Science and Engineering, and Writing, while junior high school and high school students in up to the 2nd grade attend university level courses including Cryptology, Introduction to Biomedical Sciences, Probability and Game Theory, Engineering Design Principles, CSI @ CTY, Art and Film Science, Introduction to Computer Science and Philosophy, Principles of Microeconomics, Mathematical Models, Genetics, International Relations, and Poetry & Prose. Students also take part in an excellent sports and recreation program.
Established through a donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Center is also being sponsored by Lidl Hellas and AEGEAN Airlines, and is supported by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. In Cyprus, CTY Greece is supported by Lidl Cyprus.
