The current weather front is expected to continue affecting Greece until at least next Saturday, bringing more heavy rain and storms throughout the country, the head of Greece’s national meteorological service Antonis Lalos noted on Thursday.
“The bad weather affecting almost all our country will continue today, tomorrow and roughly until the morning hours of Saturday, when there will be a temporary improvement of the weather from west to east,” stressed the head of EMY, talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
The storms and heavy rainfall will effectively not stop until Sunday for the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese islands and eastern Macedonia-Thrace, he continued.
“Particular care is needed because the strong rain and storms occurring will be accompanied by hail and very strong winds in places,” Lalos pointed out, while he did not rule out the possibility of more heavy rain in Attica in the next two days.
