Greek Police break up ring producing fake travel documents for migrants

Greek Police arrested the members of a gang producing fake documents for traffickers of migrants travelling from Greece to other countries, according to ANA.

The police operation (“Yehya”) was assisted by the Europol program Empact, while special analytics were provided by the European Migrant Smuggling Centre (EMSC), through the permanent presence of specialists at the Europol office in Piraeus port and the mobile office unit provided by the center.

The fake travel documents were provided in bulk, for the price of 100 to 240 euros while the criminal ring is thought to have made over a million euros from the sale of the fake documents.
