The European Commission announced it is granting Greece 7 million euros to Greece directly for urgent needs related to housing and feeding of migrants, and sanitation and cleaning of reception centers on the Aegean Islands and mainland Greece, ANA reports.
Commenting on the decision, European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos noted, “We continue to show solidarity with Greece in terms of managing the migration situation on the islands and the mainland. Today’s funding will contribute to improving conditions at the reception centers in Greece.”
