Weather service warns of storms and snow in Greece from Sunday afternoon

The Greek meteorological service on Sunday issued a warning that the weather is expected to deteriorate as of Sunday afternoon, with a storm front coming down from the north and bringing strong rains, storms and even snow in northern parts of the country, ANA reports.

The worst weather is expected in the northern Ionian Sea and Epirus, Central Macedonia, central Greece and the Sporades islands until Sunday night. Later on, it is expected to extend to west central Greece and the Peloponnese, Eastern Macedonia-Thrace and the islands of the northern Aegean and then the eastern Aegean islands and possibly even the Dodecanese islands.

By Monday, the greatest problems are expected to be centered in Thrace, north and east Aegean and the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, with snow falling at altitudes above 300-500 metres in central and northern parts of the country.
