Evzones’ march in honour of Presidential Guard who passed away at 24

In memory of 24-year-old Evzone Spyros Thoma, who died suddenly a few hours after his shift at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier last Thursday, the Presidential Guards paraded through the streets of Athens on Sunday, with Spyros’ father walking by their side, greekcitytimes.com reports.

At the end of the parade and after the Evzones’ returned to their base, they shouted “Athanatos”, meaning immortal and kept one minute’s silence for Spyros.
