Heavy rain is expected to fall in Athens from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning, the Athens National Observatory’s meteorological service said, according to ANA.
Rain is already falling from early Thursday in the western and northern Greek regions while storms are reported in the Ionian Sea as well as the western parts of the mainland.
From early until Friday afternoon, rainstorms will hit again the eastern mainland and the Aegean Sea. The same conditions will prevail until Saturday afternoon and afterward, the phenomena will hit all the country and mostly the regions of eastern Thessaly and the eastern part of continental Greece, the island of Evia and the Peloponnese.
Hailstorms are also expected from Thursday afternoon until early Friday mostly in the Ionian Sea, the region of Epirus, the western part of continental Greece and the Peloponnese, the southern Aegean and Crete while snow will fall only on high altitudes.
