Three Turkish nationals aged 69, 42 and 37 were arrested at a search on the US-flagged yacht “ANGELO BIAN” while sailing in the sea region of Greek island of Othoni, according to ANA.
The vessel was driven, with the assistance of two Coast Guard patrol boats, to the port of Corfu, where, after a thorough investigation, it was found that the arrested and the vessel were involved in the illegal transport of 43 third-country nationals to Lecce, Italy, while a European arrest warrant was pending against them.
