A new platform support vessel, the Atlas I, was commissioned into the Hellenic Navy this week, during a ceremony at the Salamina anchorage in the greater Piraeus area, naftemporiki.gr reports.
The vessel, which can supply other naval assets at sea, including with fuel, was built after a grant by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.
The Atlas I is 70 meters in length, with a displacement of roughly 3,000 tons.
