A new cold front named “Eteoklis” is expected to affect Greece from Friday night, bringing rainstorms, heavy snow at higher altitudes in northwestern Greece, and gale-force winds blowing up to 9-10 on the Beaufort scale, the meteo weather service of Athens National Observatory said on Friday, according to ANA.
The cold front is linked with an extensive and especially intense atmospheric disturbance was over the United Kingdom on Thursday night and is currently moving rapidly in a southeasterly direction to cross the barrier formed by the Alps, in order to form a second low-pressure front over the Adriatic Sea. This new low front will bring the “Eteoklis” weather system to Greece.
