Greece’s Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarakis asked Epirus municipalities to support the management of the refugee/migration crisis at a meeting on Friday with the mayors of Epirus, ANA reports.
Mitarakis added that the municipalities can assist, play a role and manage funds and that this would be a very positive message. He pointed out that there was a very specific plan for addressing the issue, which pivoted on better protection of the borders, accelerating asylum procedures and increasing the rate of returns.
