Ban on refugee hotspots and hosting facilities extended in Greece to May 10

A joint ministerial decision extending the circulation ban for those hosted in reception and identification centers and hosting facilities throughout Greece, as a protection measure against the spread of the coronavirus, until May 10, was signed by Citizen Protection Minister Mihalis Chrissohoidis, Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias and Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi, a Migration Ministry announcement noted on Monday.

In the meanwhile, nearly 1,500 refugees and asylum seekers are due to leave the Moria hotspot on Lesvos for the Greek mainland next Saturday.
