Minister: Number of migrants on islands decreases by 15% in Greece after initiatives

The number of refugees and migrants on Greek islands has dropped by 15 percent since the start of the year, Migration & Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi said on Friday, according to ANA.

In an interview with Skai TV, the minister said that since January 1 a total of 13,000 individuals have been transferred from the islands to the mainland, fulfilling a demand by islanders that hotspots be decongested.
