Greek health authorities are on alert after a spike in coronavirus cases in the country, during the past few days, according to int.ert.gr
The General Secretariat of Civil Protection has decided to resume its daily public briefings, a sign of concern regarding the consequences of the excessive easing of restrictive measures.
Ninety-seven new cases were confirmed on Monday, of which 30 involved travelers from abroad, and 29 were detected during mass testing in Xanthi. The total number of cases reached 3,049. Two more deaths were registered, bringing the total number of victims to 182.
Anyone who thinks that the coronavirus has gone away is mistaken, warned the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, and appealed to the citizens to be vigilant and to take the necessary precautions, in the aftermath of mass congestion observed in many bars around Greece, over the last weekend.
