The Greek Prime Minister will have a teleconference with the agencies involved in the Operational Control Plan at the gateways into Greece at 12.30 pm, after the rise in coronavirus cases in the Balkans and the daily identification of imported cases.
Fifty new cases were announced yesterday, 27 of which were imported, as well as 7 in Attica, 6 in Thessaloniki and Xanthi, 2 in Kavala, and 1 in Halkidiki and Rodopi.
During the teleconference, the participants are also expected to address the rising trend of lax observation of health measures, with the possibility that decisions will be taken, in order to deal with the cases of overcrowding and public gatherings.
Globally, the pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 550,000 people, while there are now over 2 million cases worldwide.
