Settlement at Greek island of Evia evacuated as wildfire rages on

A precautionary evacuation of the Delissos settlement at Raptaion in Karystos municipality, Evia, was ordered by the fire brigade on Saturday, as a raging wildfire, there is becoming increasingly hard to put out, due to local high winds blowing up to 8 Beaufort, ANA reports.

Battling the fire are some 28 fire brigade vehicles, 80 firefighters, three ground teams, four water-dropping airplanes, and five helicopters.
