Six store owners arrested on Ionian islands for endangering public health

Six people were arrested and fines of several thousand euros were imposed on Ionian Island individuals on Saturday by police over insufficient coronavirus prevention measures, ANA reports.

Among those arrested, two store owners on Corfu and one on Paxi islands operated their stores past the 12-midnight curfew. Each was fined 10,000 euros and their stores’ operation suspended for three days.

Smaller fines were imposed on 25 store owners on Zakynthos, Corfu and Kefalonia islands for non-use of facial masks.
