Interior Minister: Greece cannot sustain another Covid-19 lockdown

Greek society and the economy cannot bear another general lockdown, Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos asserted on Thursday, in an interview with ANT1 TV, ANA reports.

Theodorikakos called instead on Greek society and politicians to show unity, calmness, discipline, and optimism to face the new phase of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Among other issues he referred to during his interview were the upcoming hiring of some 9,474 school cleaning staff throughout Greece, with full insurance for 10 months, at an additional cost to the state of almost 30 million euros.
