The Greek police continue the intensive controls for the implementation of the measures for the prevention of the coronavirus spread, ANA reports.
On Saturday, August 22, 65,245 controls were carried out throughout the country and the following violations were confirmed:
Sixteen violations and 3 arrests for violating the rules for the operation of stores, while 5 stores were closed for overcrowding (2 in the Peloponnese, 1 in Central Greece, 1 in Central Macedonia and 1 in the Ionian Islands).
Regarding the non-use of a mask and failure to observe adequate social distancing, 502 violations were confirmed and an equal number of fines of 150 euros were imposed, as follows: One hundred in Central Macedonia, 84 in Thessaloniki, 46 in Central Greece, 44 in Attica, 38 in the Ionian Islands, 36 in Epirus, 30 in the Peloponnese, 28 in Western Greece, 25 in Thessaly, 25 in Crete, 15 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 13 in the North Aegean, 11 in the South Aegean and 7 in Western Macedonia.
