Missing boat in Greek island of Cephalonia found without passengers

A boat that has been missing since last Friday was found at a beach of Lefkada on Wednesday, ANA reports.

According to sources, the boat was found at a small beach west of the popular Kathisma beach. The four passengers of the boats are still missing.

A 30-year-old tourist and three other men had leased the boat to make a one-day tour of the island and ought to have returned to Argostoli late on Friday according to the leasing contract. The owner of the 4.8m boat informed the authorities that they did not return and a search and rescue operation was launched instantly by a Cephalonia coast guard patrol boat, a Frontex vessel, five private boats, and two police cars.
