Parents should not feel any qualms about sending their children to school in the coming year, an expert in pediatric epidemiology and a member of the health ministry’s team of experts for the pandemic Vana Papaevangelou said, talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) radio station “Praktoreio” on Sunday.
“I want to assure parents that we have, to the degree possible, taken all the measures so that attending school is safe. The parents must trust us. They must first of all trust teachers, who I feel sure will support this effort,” she stressed, pointing out that children should go to school because this was where they both happier and most creative, as well as where they developed in more than a strictly educational sense.
“In school, they mix with children their own age, they let off steam during breaks and during sports. Children are happy at school,” she added while admitting that the coming year will be very unusual.
