Greece records 295 new Covid-19 cases and seven fatalities on Monday

Greece reported 295 new confirmed novel coronavirus infections on Monday, with 48 people linked to known clusters and 40 cases detected at the country’s entry points, ANA reports.

The National Public Health Organization announced that all cases since the pandemic arrived in Greece in late February total 22,652, of whom 3,315 are believed to be related to travel abroad and 9,218 to formerly known cases.

Furthermore, another 7 deaths were reported on Monday, which raises the total number of fatalities to 456, of whom 174 were women. The median age of the deceased was 79 years, and 96.5 pct had an underlying condition and/or were al least 70 years old.

Geographically, the Attica region still leads in the concentration of cases (145), followed by high numbers in the regions of Kozani (19), Ioannina (15), and Corinthia (9), while another 17 are in the process of contact tracing.
