Greece reported 508 new confirmed novel coronavirus infections on Friday, with 64 people linked to known clusters and 12 detected at the country’s entry points, ANA reports.
The National Public Health Organization announced that all cases since the pandemic arrived in Greece in late February reach 24,450 of whom 3,454 are believed to be related to travel abroad and 9,893 to previously known cases.
Moreover, another 8 deaths were reported on Friday, which raises the total number of fatalities to 490, of whom 184 were women. The median age of the deceased was 79 years, and 96.3 pct had an underlying condition and/or were at least 70 years old.
In the geographical distribution breakdown, Attica Region concentrations went up to 227. The higher confirmed cases for Friday are accounted for by rises in other regions, such as Thessaloniki (63), Ioannina (31), Kozani (24), Kastoria (20), and Larisa (14). Another 15 cases are being traced.
