US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt was briefed on the coronavirus pandemic in Greece through a teleconference at the National Public Health Organization (EODY) on Tuesday, ANA reports.
Later, Mr. Pyatt tweeted about a “fantastic discussion” and lauded “Greece’s science-driven approach” which “has lessons for us all”.
The briefing was held at the agency’s premises by EODY President Panagiotis Arkoumaneas, Vice-President Giorgos Panagiotakopoulos and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras.
In a statement, the organization said that “there was an exchange of views and information on the future collaboration of the US Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) and on the situation in Greece and Europe.”
