Stores will open on Sunday, December 12 as well as Sunday, December 19 for Christmas shopping, ANA reports.
Trade unions have proposed the opening of stores from 11 am to 6 pm while the Hellenic Retail Business Association (SELPE) has proposed their opening from 11 am to 8 pm.
“We are waiting for you to celebrate Christmas and do your Christmas shopping with safety as we have ensured the full observance of the health protocols, product adequacy, good prices, positive mood, and friendly service,” Athens Trade Association president Stavros Kafounis said.
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, namely, shops and stores will open at 10:00 and close at 18:00.
All shops will be shut on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, December 25-26, and on New Year’s Day and January 2, 2022.
