18,605 new Covid-19 cases and 80 fatalities reported in Greece in last 24 hours

Greek authorities announced that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 18,605, of which 42 were detected after checks at the country’s entry points, protothema.gr reports.

The total number of cases amounts to 2,274,025 (daily change + 0.8%), of which 49.7% are men.

The new fatalities of patients with COVID-19 are 80, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 25,183 deaths have been recorded. 95.0% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 470 (62.3% men). Their median age is 67 years. 86.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 349 (74.26%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 121 (25.74%) are fully vaccinated. Since the start of the pandemic, 4,193 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
