Greece’s Health Minister, Thanos Plevris, said on Tuesday that the slowing down of the pandemic “conditions allow us to proceed with the suspension of the protection measures put in place from May 1st,” greekcitytimes.com reports.
The measures to be lifted are the Covid-Pass, that is the certificate for vaccination and recovery from Covid-19, along with the mandatory use of masks indoors.
In an interview with Skai TV, Plevris stressed, nevertheless, that the certificates will not be abolished but “suspended.”
He added: “That is, the validity of vaccination and disease certificates is suspended.
The health protocols for traveler activities are simplified, as well as the tests (testing) on citizens for their entry into various places.” e.g. clubs and bars.
He added that “the measures will be reviewed in September.”
It was announced on Monday that Greece will remove Covid-related entry requirements for all travelers, including those from the US, Canada, and the UK. The new rules are scheduled to go into effect on May 2, 2022.

From Greece’s vaccine passport to all internal travel restrictions, here’s an overview of the entry requirements that will be temporarily removed from May 2nd, 2022:
No proof of vaccination will be required to enter Greece by land, sea, or air
No testing requirements for travelers, regardless of vaccination status
All internal vaccine passport requirements will be scrapped for fully vaccinated as well as unvaccinated travelers. This means that travelers and locals alike will not have to show any negative test results, recovery certificates, or proof of vaccination in order to enter public indoor and outdoor spaces in Greece this summer.
