Greece’s Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianidis chaired a new meeting held on Sunday at the ministry with the participation of the deputy minister, Evangelos Tournas, the general secretary, Vassilios Papageorgiou, the leadership of the Fire Brigade, as well as meteorologists to evaluate the new meteorological data about the intense weather front named ‘EVA’, ANA reports.
During the meeting, it was decided to send new warning messages through 112, if deemed appropriate, depending on the course of the weather. Meanwhile, all Civil Protection forces remain fully deployed and ready to deal with any emergencies due to the severe weather conditions. Meanwhile, a message via 112 was sent to the residents of Samos, Ikaria, and the Dodecanese warning them of dangerous weather phenomena (strong storms) from Sunday noon until Monday morning.
