Fall in Covid-19 infections and flu cases reported in Greece on May 22-28

New cases of both SARS-CoV-2 and of influenza (flu) dropped slightly over the week of May 22-28, according to the weekly report by the National Public Health Organization (EODY), published on Thursday, ANA reports.

Hospital admissions for coronavirus also fell last week, dropping 2% overall compared to the average weekly admissions during the last 4 weeks. Meanwhile, the number of new intubations on May 22-28 decreased compared to the previous week, registering an overall 59% drop compared to the average of new intubations in the last 4 weeks.

At present, 40 people are intubated with Covid-19 in Greek hospitals, while another 45 passed during the week of May 22-28. The median age of those who died was 85 (age range: 71-96).
